Silas Update #92 (June 20, 9:47 pm)

We are home. We are whole.

I really don’t have words. Mostly I just want to say our God is so BIG so STRONG and SO MIGHTY there is NOTHING our God cannot do.

I also want to say thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! Thank you for praying for Silas and for all of us! Thank you for the meals, cards, hugs, treats, encouraging texts and comments, hospital visits, gift baskets, offers for childcare, gift cards, trips to the store… thank you for caring about us! Thank you for those of you who were able to show up today for the Silas parade with 90 minutes notice. Unbelievable. I know you all wanted to be there. And you were in spirit!

We have a road ahead. So many therapies, doctors appointments, etc. So many opportunities to shine our lights for Jesus.

Please pray for endurance and strength and comfort for Silas. Please pray for 100% healing. Please pray that he keeps truth in the front of his mind and the full armor of God really. We DO NOT want the devil to get a foothold.

Please pray for endurance for Ryan and I as we run this race with Silas.

Silas has such a beautiful testimony. If you have not read it, please do! It’s right here…

Oh my. The joy! We all felt exactly like Caleb… 🥰

  6. I have been continuing to pray and praise the Lord as your updates have come through my email. My daughter is getting married a week from Saturday so I have been less able to get online and comment, but thankfully we can pray always! I am rejoicing with you all over what God has done and am continuing to pray for endurance for you, Ryan, Silas, and the rest of your family as you encounter things that temp you to be discouraged. I am especially praying for Silas during his recovery time. I know intimately the struggles of adjusting your norm and continuing to push yourself. It’s tension that is unpleasant at best and excruciating at worst. It is so much like the tension that Paul describes in Philippians wanting to be with the Lord, yet want to remain for the sake of the other believers. To be content with where you are at, yet to be constantly pushing toward more (sanctification, right?). I am praying that God will grant him peace and comfort, that His Word will fill Silas’s mind and heart. God has been so good and gracious in healing Silas. I pray that his testimony with continue to draw others to Christ, as well as the testimony you have written here!

  7. We continue to rejoice with you that Silas was strong enough to be able to GO HOME and this early! What miracles we all have witnessed!!

We know that there are many, many adjustments to your summer. We pray for the grace to sustain each one of you through all of the many strong emotions and changes which come with trauma. God is up to something BIG here, and we’re glad to be with you in the story He is creating! We pray wisdom for each decision, patience for the journey, faith despite many unknowns, quiet so Silas’s brain can heal, and the beauty of watching many more miracles occur in healing, the gospel going out, and much much more!
