Silas Update #80 (June 16, 10 am)

Silas is still doing so well. He is talking much more clearly today.

Physical Therapy just came to see him. They were very encouraged and encouraging. They are so pleased with his progress.

This is the deal… Silas could come home from here. But it just might not be the very best for him. We want the very best. It is looking like that might be Shepherd Center in Atlanta.

Please pray for wisdom for Ryan and I as we make this decision.

Please pray for 100% recovery for Silas. Pray that he gets moved to a different room today so that he can sleep. Pray that his CT scan later today shows good things. Please pray that his heart is encouraged and that he feels all the love that is being poured out on him. Pray that he is compelled by the love of Christ and can pour that out on others. Please pray that his faith grows even stronger through this.

Silas loves the Lord. You can read his testimony here…

Our family minus Caleb at Wasabi… you can look back at my post “Trauma and Triggers” if you are curious why Caleb needed to stay back. 😉

  1. Rejoicing with you at all the progress he has made and praying for continued healing! I know someone who was in the spinal cord injury program at Shepherd. She is a walking miracle today!!!

  2. We are close friends with the Stocks and have been following your journey and praying for complete healing for Silas and for strength for you all. Your grace through this trial and love for Jesus are evident through these posts.

Shepard’s in Chattanooga is amazing and a dear friend who was in a serious car crash is walking today because of their care. Prayers for wisdom for you all to do what is best for Silas and your family.

  3. Shepherd center is FABULOUS. We had a dear friend stay there after he was hit by a car on a bike and they went above and beyond in care. Our friend was “not supposed to walk” ever again. But WITH GOD and the sweet staff there he is walking. I truly believe his healing was so much speedier due to them. Of course this is a terribly hard and painful decision. I’ve been praying every few hours for y’all. Love you all dearly. ❤️❤️❤️ Jesus be tangibly near.

  4. I pray for you and Ryan as you make this decision. I know that I don’t have a say, but just the perspective of a 30 year veteran in the field. I recommend sending him to rehab. He will make great progress and have great medical monitoring. There are so many factors that play a part into a decision like this. We pray the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
