Silas Update #30 (June 5, 5:40 pm)

Silas is still holding steady. We have nothing new to report which is good. He is still at around 14 for his ICP so we can’t do the CT scan yet.

All noise/stimulation drives the ICP up. So, Ryan and I are heading home in an effort to let him rest. We will go back in the morning.

Please pray for the ICP to come down and for the clots to dissipate. Pray that he will tolerate a CT scan tonight and get good results. Pray for rest and healing. Pray for comfort.

Also, especially since we are not at the hospital, no news is good news.

Silas knows and loves and serves the Lord. If you have not read his testimony, scroll on down under the updates.

  1. The love that your family has for each other is also a beautiful testimony of your love for & faith in God! Our prayers continue for Silas, for each request you’ve written, and for you/Ryan to have a restful night’s sleep. ❤️

  3. Thank you for the updates, even hour by hour, because it helps us to pray! We will continue to pray for low ICP numbers, no new clots, and for his young body to do what young bodies covered in prayer can do…heal quickly!!! Praying for you and Ryan as well. We can’t even imagine going through what you’re going through, having to leave the hospital when all you want to do is stay and stare and hold his precious hands and pray over Silas. The Holy Spirit will intercede for you even when you aren’t with your sweet boy. Praying for comfort as only the Great Comforter can give!

  4. Hi Cindy,
I don’t know that you remember me, I attended Crossway for several months. I heard about your Silas getting hurt and I have been praying for him steadily. I heard about hyperbaric oxygen therapy. It’s a method to help someone heal by giving them a lot of oxygen while they are in a chamber. From what I know of it’s not that common, but I’ve heard of a place in New Orleans that practices this. I’ll put the link below.
Also, I don’t know that it would work because there probably a lot going on around his head, but he would be able to wear noise cancelling headphones to help prevent him from being affected and noise?

  5. Robin and I continue to pray for Silas and you all. Heavenly Father, We pray for the physical healing of your son, Silas, that he may be a living testimony to your grace and mercy. We pray for a resolution of the pneumonia in his lungs. We pray for knitting together of his bones and neural tissues of his brain. I ask that You help the medications and his body dissolve the clots in his brain and anywhere else. I ask, Father, that you do these things not for our comfort, not for our well-being, not for our need to keep our family safe and feelings of security. I pray this that the fame of your name be published and made known to all of Silas’ friends, family, our community, our city, our nation and to the world. I pray Your saving power may be made known so that all may know You and believe in your Son. Oh Father, I plead for your name to be honored and glorified in your people! Please hold your Holy Spirit close to Cindy and Ryan as they continue to care and love their kids shepherding them in faithfulness to You and your mighty name! Sustain them by the power of your word which governs our very existence giving life, health, comfort and peace. Now May the goodness of You our God and of your people overwhelmingly aid and sustain this family in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
