Silas Update #27 (June 5, 12:13 pm)

Silas has had the bronchoscopy and is settled. They were able to clear most of the mucus. They may have to do it again in a few hours. They are waiting to make sure his pressure stays down before doing a CT scan. He is now on 100% ventilation when had been at 40%. They have turned the sedation way back up and added another kind.

Please pray that the pneumonia clears up and his ICP stays down.

The team is making it clear again and again that the prognosis is good but we are still on the roller coaster and we will be for awhile. Please pray for endurance.

If you have not already, be sure and scroll down to read Si’s Testimony! You will be blessed by it!

Praise the Lord for the sweet team that is caring for Silas. And for us…..

  1. Praying for the pressure to stay down and for complete quick healing of the Pneumonia. We prayed for Silas, your whole family, and those caring for him this morning at GCC. When the urgent situation with the pneumonia was sent out, we had groups praying for that as well. I am continuing to pray that the Lord will meet your needs and grant you deeper faith and trust as this goes on. Chris preached on 1 Corinthians 4:1-5.

“Let a man regard us in this manner, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. [2] In this case, moreover, it is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy.” (1-2)

I know that you all are being faithful, trustworthy stewards of the mysteries of God as you show forth the gospel in the midst of deep suffering and increasing bodily fatigue. May His love and care for you be increasingly evident today.

  3. JESUS: “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give you…. Let not your hrarts be troubled, Ryan and Cindy, nether let them be afraid.”

God is receiving glory day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute. All of us who are praying are participating in the work He is doing in each of your lives (and in our lives) because He is at work.

Reminder: God does everything for His glory and for our good.

We can trust that He never sacrifices His glory for our good, but neither does He ever sacrifice our good for His glory.

  6. Just caught up on all the updates because we were gone this weekend with no service. We were really missing your blog post updates and we SO appreciate you bringing us all along the highs and lows with you.

Praying for healing and for patience for you, Ryan, and the kids. Cannot imagine how eager you are to speed up this process. We are all so eager with you.

  7. Michael, myself and many others are praying for you all. All of our worship music in church this morning just brought forth to my heart and mind all of you. Just saying a hallelujah in the midst of this storm. Know that our dear sweet father in heaven is with you right beside you, right beside the doctors and the medical staff and holding Silas in His arms. We are praying for miracles from the mighty physician.
