Silas Update #18 (10:22 pm)

The bolt was moved and the pressure remained high. They installed the drain and the pressures came down quickly to a normal range. Praise God!

Please pray for the pressures to stay down. Please pray for a restful night. Please pray that Si is not afraid. Please pray for Ryan and I. The struggle is real. We are casting our burdens as best we can, but it is a moment by moment decision.

Please read Si’s testimony below the updates if you have not already.

  3. This is so hard. I love that, in the midst of your struggles and pain and heartache, you continue to point people to Jesus.

    Heavenly Father,
You have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and your outstretched arms. Nothing is too difficult for you. I ask that you give Ryan and Cindy your peace. Help them to trust you in every moment. I pray that you comfort Silas and allow him to rest and to heal. I pray for Caleb. I pray that you help him to look to you and not to be anxious. I pray for Cheyenne, Collin and Alexa-that you allow them to see your hand in all of this. I ask that you protect their tender hearts.

May many come to know you because of this situation. Thank you for giving us hope in Jesus. Thank you for being a mighty God. I praise you because of who you are. May you be glorified. I pray all of these things in the name of Jesus. Amen.

May He fill Silas heart with peace and his mind with healing and comfort. You are so so loved and precious to Him.

  5. I do not know you and have not had the pleasure of meeting any of you. That being said, I have a very intimate, strong, and close relationship with someone that I am 100% certain after reading his testimony that Silas does as well. The one that spoke this world into existence and his only son Jesus. I will not give you my entire story because this is not about me. But I will tell you this. I am an ordained Baptist Minister. I am 47 years old. I was saved at 10 years old and diagnosed as a Type 1 Diabetic at 11. I said that to say this, I have been in a similar situation. At the same age as Silas, after having a bad virus, I ended up slipping into a Diabetic Coma. Every situation is different but I do know the fear, thoughts, dreams and experiences that one goes through in that situation. God delivered me and I now have 3 kids of my own, a full life and ministry.

If nothing else I write is read here I hope you read this. I awoke from my coma in the ICU at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville with my mother, father, and Pastor holding hands around my bed crying and praying over my body. With the ventilator in keeping me from speaking I immediately had a thought so strong that I felt it was placed there by God as a direct message to me. The thought was this:

If God’s Will places you somewhere, his Grace see you through it, and his Mercy will bring you out of it.

God sees the total of our entire lives. He knows that for us to get to point “C”, we must endure “A” and “B” first. It is for a reason. Whether it is to strengthen a church, bring a family together, an example of strength through weakness, “joy” that surpasses all understanding, or bring a lost soul to salvation or MANY to salvation…

God has a reason. He knows Silas’s name. He knows YOUR name. He knows when a single hair falls from our heads and he would blow out the sun before he would ignore one of his children’s cries.

I will not cease in praying for Silas, the family, and the medical staff until God says to. I will beg my family, my friends, and our church to do the same.

God’s mighty hand be in the midst. May he bless, comfort, and keep you all.
