Silas has had an extremely uneventful day. His ICP has been good but it has been really good for the last couple of hours. So, they will take him down for a CT scan shortly.
Please pray for a successful CT scan. Pray that his ICP does not go up too much. Pray for good results. Pray that the blood clot is dissipating. Pray for wisdom for the doctors on next steps. Pray that Si’s heart is comforted.
As always, if you have not had a chance to read Si’s testimony, scroll on down.
Silas is still holding steady. The team hopes to get a CT scan today. Based on those results, they will decide if the clot needs neurological intervention. If it does they would do an Embolectomy. Basically, use a catheter to pull it out. Obviously, as with every medical procedure, there are risks.
Please pray that his ICP goes down and stays down. Please pray for a successful CT scan. Please pray that the clot has dissolved. Please pray that the team will have wisdom on next steps.

Silas is holding steady. His ICP is lower this morning, anywhere from 4 to 15, but mostly under 10. The vent is down to 40. His fever is 100.6 All good news.
Please pray for a good day today. A day with progress. Please pray that his ICP stays under 10 and that his pneumonia goes away.
Please pray for our other children. Caleb, Cheyenne, Collin and Alexa. They are doing well overall. They are getting lots of love from family and friends. Chey said she was at the park by our house yesterday and someone on the tennis court yelled to her and said “Our family is praying for you!” She said, “I didn’t know whether to say thank you or I don’t know you so I just said thank you.” 🥰 Our children are seeing and feeling God’s provision continually.
Please pray for our family and neighbors and friends that are caring for our other children. I know it’s so much on them.
Please pray for Ryan and I. For peace and endurance.

Silas and his precious friend Matthew. These 2 love each other so much.
Phew. Another good report. Silas is holding steady. His ICP is still 12-14. His oxygen levels are good. They were able to lower the ventilator from 85% to 65%. He is stable and resting comfortably.
He does have a fever of 101. That has happened on and off. It’s either part of the storming or due to pneumonia or a little of both. The team is watching it but not overly concerned. It is to be expected.
Please pray for rest for all of us. Pray that Silas remains stable and that his ICP and fever go down. Please pray for continued strength for all of us. Please pray for a full recovery for Silas. Please pray for all those who love him. Pray that many come to faith through his life and testimony. If God is impacting this many people through 1 precious sedated boy, imagine what he could do through each of us.

Silas is still holding steady. We have nothing new to report which is good. He is still at around 14 for his ICP so we can’t do the CT scan yet.
All noise/stimulation drives the ICP up. So, Ryan and I are heading home in an effort to let him rest. We will go back in the morning.
Please pray for the ICP to come down and for the clots to dissipate. Pray that he will tolerate a CT scan tonight and get good results. Pray for rest and healing. Pray for comfort.
Also, especially since we are not at the hospital, no news is good news.

Silas is good. His vitals look good. His ICP has stayed around 13-15 (still well below 20). While that is good it’s not good enough to tolerate a CT scan right now. So that is on hold.
Please pray that his ICP will get to and stay under 10. Please pray for strength and courage and comfort for all of us.
Silas has such a beautiful testimony. Scroll down under the updates to read it. I have read it countless times in the last 5 days and what joy it brings to my heart!
January 2022- Boston! One of Si’s favorite places with some of his favorite people!
Si’s ICP is good. The team feels good about sending him for a CT scan. So that will happen shortly.
Please pray that his ICP stays down, especially during the scan. Please pray that the scan comes back with good results. Please pray that Si’s heart is encouraged.

Silas is known for his hugs… sometimes they can pick you right up off the floor!!!
Silas has had the bronchoscopy and is settled. They were able to clear most of the mucus. They may have to do it again in a few hours. They are waiting to make sure his pressure stays down before doing a CT scan. He is now on 100% ventilation when had been at 40%. They have turned the sedation way back up and added another kind.
Please pray that the pneumonia clears up and his ICP stays down.
The team is making it clear again and again that the prognosis is good but we are still on the roller coaster and we will be for awhile. Please pray for endurance.

Praise the Lord for the sweet team that is caring for Silas. And for us…..
Si has pneumonia. They are taking him for a bronchoscopy. They hope to clear the mucus. They will also treat him with antibiotics. His doctor seems very concerned.
