Hello all! Remember no news is good news! And today has been so good.
Si’s ICP has stayed super low all day. He is still very sedated but he is also responsive. He communicated that he would like for Ryan to stay overnight with him.
The team still plans to take out the bolt and drain and ventilator tomorrow.
I know I have mentioned how amazing the team is again and again. Words truly cannot express. (Just see the pics below)
Please pray that Silas continues to progress. Please pray that tomorrow goes as planned. Please pray for strength and endurance and comfort for Silas. Please pray for 100% recovery.
Please pray for all of us who know and love Silas. That is A LOT of people and this is hard. Our family got to be with our church family today. We got to worship our Lord and Savior together. What a blessing!
Silas knows and loves the Lord and is known and loved by Him. If you have not had a chance to read Si’s testimony, scroll on down. It’s under the updates. Or you can watch him read it to you at the bottom of Update #54.
Silas continues to do so well. He slept peacefully overnight. His ICP stayed very low. All of his numbers look so good. He still performs very well on neurological exams. The team still plans to take the bolt and drain out tomorrow and hopefully the ventilator. For today, the plan is for him to rest while slowly decreasing sedation.
The rest of us Atkinsons feel good about going to church together today. What a blessing to be with our incredible body of believers who have stood right beside us for the last 12 days. They have certainly met the pressing needs. I just love how God set up the church.
Please pray for 100% healing for Silas. Please pray that the team can bring down sedation without Si getting agitated. Please pray that tomorrow can go as planned. Please pray for comfort and strength and endurance for Silas.
Please pray for all of us who love Silas. We miss him so much that it actually hurts.
Please pray for his medical team. It’s a lot to figure out. It’s a lot of people working together. It’s a lot of love poured out on our precious boy.
Please pray that lives continue to be impacted by Si’s life and testimony. If you have not read his testimony, please do! It’s just below the updates. Or you can watch him read it to you at the bottom of Update #54.

Please pray for Si’s team. Pray for wisdom for them.

Silas is doing so well. His numbers all look good. He has spent most of the day sleeping. However, we are seeing more and more glimpses of him when he is awake. He even tracked his nurse with his eyes when she walked across the room. That is a really big deal. He is under SO much sedation. So the fact that he can respond in the slightest is amazing. But watching someone walk across the room… next level.
On the home front, the kids are doing well. Ryan did hospital duty today and I stayed home with the crew. I am definitely not myself but each child voiced that they loved having me home.
Please pray that Si’s ICP stays low tonight so that the team can wean down sedation. Pray that when he comes out of sedation he stays calm. Pray for 100% healing for Silas. Please pray that the Lord comforts his heart and gives him all the strength and endurance.
Please pray for Ryan and I. These are hard days, but we see and feel God’s goodness in abundance. No matter what happens, there is no reason to despair. Because we are all safely in the Father’s hands. Please pray that all that truth stays in the forefront of our minds.
Please pray for Si’s siblings- Caleb, Cheyenne, Collin & Alexa. They are so amazing. They are talking a lot about missing Silas. Which is good. Please pray for all those who are helping us care for them. It’s a lot.
Please pray for Si’s team- doctors, nurses, etc. They are extremely invested in Silas and our whole family. I know it’s a lot on them.

Caleb and Alexa wanted to do a shout out to Si today. 🥰
Silas pooped! And that did help with the pressure… It is now ranging from 17 to 21. They are saying under 25 is good.
Please pray for 100% healing for Silas. Please pray that his heart is comforted. Please pray that God continues to use all of this in a mighty way! Please pray for the team as they support Silas and often support us. Please pray for all of us that love Silas. We are definitely hurting.

One of the trauma doctors just came to talk to Ryan. He was very encouraging. He encouraged us not to focus so much on the ICP monitor. He said they have other ways of measuring that same pressure and those results look good. He reminded us that we are still right on the roller coaster but that children are so resilient! And he has not even met our Silas really… Talk about resilience!
All of the other numbers look really good. Blood pressure, heart rate, body temperature…
Please pray for comfort for all of us. Please pray that Silas will poop and then it will relieve some of the pressure. Please pay for 100% healing for Silas .

I will write more soon. After Ryan talks to the doctor. For now, please pray that Si’s ICP comes down (he is in the high 20s) and that he poops. They think that might help.
Silas is holding steady. His monitors look great! The team is having a little trouble taking his sedation down. He gets agitated when the sedation gets below a certain level. I know I would too.
Please pray that the team will get the bolt, the drain and the ventilator out on Monday. That is the plan.
Please pray for a quick and 100% recovery for Silas. Please pray that he is drawing closer and closer to the Lord. Please pray for strength and endurance for him.
Please pray for Ryan and I as we process all the things and as we parent our other children. They are hurting deeply. Alexa said today, “I miss the light that Si brings to our family.” Please pray for their hurting hearts.
Please pray for comfort for all of us who love Silas. Please pray that many continue to be impacted by Si’s life and testimony.

Hello friends. There is really nothing new to report but I know you all are praying fervently so I thought a mid-day update would be good.
Silas is resting comfortably. All the numbers on all the monitors look great. Praise the Lord!
It has been a hard day emotionally. It is a lot to process. However, our faith is growing and growing. We want a faith as strong as Abraham. Who was willing to do anything, even sacrifice his own son, for God’s glory.
Silas belongs to the Lord. We have always known that. But now we know it so much more deeply. God is using Si in a mighty way for His glory and Si’s good. His plans and ways are not ours. They are so much better. They are perfect.
Please pray for 100% healing for Silas. Please pray for endurance to run the race that God has set before him… and us. Please pray that lives continue to be impacted for God’s glory. Please pray for the team that is caring for Silas. Pray for so much wisdom.
Please pray for all those who are caring for our other children. Please pray for our other children- Caleb, Cheyenne, Collin and Alexa. They are holding strong. They are truly amazing children, each in their own right.
Please pray for Ryan and I. For wisdom. There are many decisions to come. We know that when we ask in faith, without any doubt, God gives us wisdom freely.
