Silas continues to do so so so well. God is so good.

We had the sweetest day with him today. He said so many funny Silas things. And his concern for others… precious.

Ryan is going to shave his head so that the two of them match. Silas is getting the biggest kick out of that! He keeps reminding Ryan that he is not getting out of it.

Silas was awake all day “so that he would be able to sleep tonight.” He got to have several visitors and he was able to engage with each one.

We really just enjoyed every minute with him. He is sweeter and cuter than ever before.

Obviously, we still have a road ahead. But we know that the Lord is with us. He always has been. He has never failed us.

Please pray for 100% recovery for Silas. Pray that he loves the Lord more than ever before and that he continues to see how God is using him. Please pray for strength and endurance and comfort for him.

Please pray for Ryan and I as we walk this road with him.

I expect the Silas updates to go down in frequency quite a bit moving forward. Praise the Lord!

Sweet Silas. Words cannot express how much we have missed this boy. He is better with each passing minute.

As usual, his primary concern is for those he loves. He is talking about the Lord and how great He is. He is smiling. He is cracking jokes. So Silas.

He is still very weak. Talking is hard. But he keeps doing it.

The team is blown away by this “dramatic recovery.”

The possibility of outpatient rehab has been mentioned quite a bit. That would be so amazing!

Please pray for 100% recovery for Silas. Please pray for strength and endurance and comfort. Please pray that Silas is drawn ever closer to the Lord.

Please pray that he can come home from here and do outpatient rehab!

Praise the Lord!!! Silas is acting so much more like Silas. He is talking a lot and communicating well!! He talks very quietly but he is saying a lot! He has talked about eating pizza with Mr. Stock at camp. He had talked about what it’s like to sleep for 2 weeks. He told us he was hungry!

I just fed him a whole bowl of Amy Hensley’s cheesy pasta and he kept saying “This is SO good.”

Pray for 100% healing for Silas!

Silas is still doing so well. He has very few monitors on at this point. He is trying to talk more and more but it is difficult. His throat is very sore.

All of his neurological checks have gone very well. The team is so pleased!

We are so thrilled, but this phase has it’s own challenges and is still quite emotional. Silas still has a lot of strong drugs that are trying to work their way out of his body. He also has a brain bleed (that should resolve itself in time). So he is not himself a lot of the time. He is agitated or scared or mad. There were times this evening that he did not recognize us. Heartbreaking.

The team assured us that none of these behaviors are abnormal. They come with the territory. But, it is still very difficult to endure.

God is so so so good. He is with us. We continue to cry out to Him for mercy and grace. He continues to provide for us in the most amazing ways.

Please pray for 100% recovery for Silas. Pray that he becomes himself all the time quickly. Please pray for strength and endurance and comfort for him. Please pray that all that scripture he has learned over the years is called to his mind.

Please pray for Ryan and I. Our love for the Lord and one another grows exponentially each day. But this is just a lot. Please pray for strength and endurance and comfort for us as well.

Please continue to pray for Si’s team. They love him so much. Please pray for wisdom and peace for them. And blessings! All the blessings!

Please pray for our other children- Caleb, Cheyenne, Collin and Alexa. They are hurting. But they are holding strong.

Please pray for those caring for our children. This is a lot on them. They have not complained once. In fact, they have done all the things with all the joy.

Silas is off the vent! He said his name. Multiple times. A little bit louder each time. He gave Ryan and I kisses.

His vitals also look great.

Neuro is not shocked by the new brain bleed. They are watching it closely. They are not overly concerned.

Please pray that Silas makes a 100% recovery. Please pray for no more setbacks. Please pray that the brain heals in all the places and that no new issues develop. Please pray for his rehab. Please pray for comfort and strength and endurance for Silas.

Please pray for Ryan and I as we parent Silas through this.

Please pray for all of us who love Silas. The hurt is deep.

We are just still right on that roller coaster/torture device. But our God is with us every single moment. He has not left our side. Not once.

They got Silas all suctioned out. He is not vomiting. They are still planning to take him off the vent.

The neuro team is coming to talk to us in an hour about the brain bleed.

Still waiting for CT. Just FYI… Silas just danced in his bed. Even with his arms tied down.

He is smiling a ton.

I said, “You are the sweetest Si.” He pointed back at me. 🥰

The drain and the bolt are out. Success! Go Abby! Now we are waiting for the CT scan.
